What's the difference between nano
hairstrokes, microblading & powder brows
We get this question often, we like clients to be informed, but we always recommend during the consultation if a client would suit better one technique over another
To put it simply, nano hairstrokes and powder brows are created using a machine, while microblading is performed with a manual tool. Regardless of the technique, achieving hyper-realistic brows depends on the artist’s understanding of PMU, skin theory and pigmentology — areas in which we are fully qualified and highly knowledgeable.
Depending on the client’s skin type—whether oily, sensitive, dry, pigmented, thick, thin, mature, or affected by alopecia. Hair type also plays a role, whether sparse, thick, or soft. We recommend the technique that will give the most natural healed best for each individual; in some cases, a client may be suited to all three techniques. The goal, in every case, is to mimic the client’s natural hairs and achieve hyper-realistic results.
In the case of soft powder brows, we create a gentle shadow using a pigment carefully matched to the client’s eyes, skin, and hair, resulting in a natural, makeup-like finish. For a more intense version, ombré brows offer a bolder, more defined look.
What is semi-permanent makeup Semi-permanent makeup is a modern form of cosmetic enhancement, similar to traditional tattooing but designed to be less invasive, as the pigment is not implanted as deeply into the skin. This is what makes it semi-permanent. It uses specialized pigments to enhance your natural features, with common treatments including brows, lips, and eyeliner. The results are long-lasting but gradually fade over time, allowing for adjustments as your style and preferences evolve.
How long does permanent makeup last Most semi-permanent makeup services retain their best appearance for 1–2 years, depending on the technique, your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, medications, and skincare routine. Annual touch-ups can help maintain the results over time.
Can I get permanent makeup if I have previous work It depends on the condition of your existing work. If you have previous brow tattoos, microblading, or any semi-permanent makeup in the treatment area, this will need to be assessed first. If you’re unsure whether you’re a suitable candidate, please complete our Virtual Consultation Form and our team will review your photos prior to booking. In many cases, laser removal may be required beforehand to achieve natural-looking results.
Does it hurt Our artists are trained in understanding correct depth technique, thus the pain is low. For brow treatments, most clients rate discomfort at around 1–2 out of 10. The lips and eyelid areas tend to be more sensitive, but topical numbing is applied before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Pain levels also depend on the service and individual's tolerance.
Do you offer consultations Yes, we offer free virtual consultations where you can send us photos, and we’ll recommend the most suitable service and plan for your goals. It’s completely free with no obligation. We also offer 30-minute in-person consultations for €10. If you choose to book a PMU session following your consultation, the fee will be waived. For any full bookings, consultations are automatically included in the appointment. You can also book a non-PMU service with us, and we will provide a consultation during your appointment.
